Cultivating Resilience, Nurturing Growth: Together Towards Sustainable Agriculture
NARRESHO ALLIANCE
Empowering the Community
Narresho Alliance was registered in Kenya in August 2021 as a farmers’ society under section 10 of the Societies Act. Narresho Alliance draws its membership from farmers within the larger Kajiado East Sub-County.
Narresho Alliance is the embodiment of what is possible when a community of farmers come together to devise community-driven approaches to climate adaptation and resilience. We are a coalition of farmers, involved in both smallholder and large scale farming of livestock, crop farming, fruit-tree farming and others forms of farming within the community to work together towards mutually agreed climate goals.
OUR OBJECTIVES
Promote a change to climate resilient agriculture whilst aiming to increase the income of smallholder farmers and cushioning them against the unpredictable effects of climate change.
Promoting Knowledge Exchange
Preserving the Kenyan Ecosystems
Advocating Sustainable Practices

REVIVING LIFE IN THE HEART OF SEMI-ARID KAJIADO: REFORESTATION FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE
Narresho Alliance launches a crucial reforestation project in Kajiado, combating desertification, water scarcity, and biodiversity loss. Partnering with the Kenyan government's tree planting initiative, Narresho Alliance aims to plant drought-resistant native trees, stabilize soil, manage water resources, and conserve biodiversity. Your support is vital; help Narresho Alliance establish tree nurseries, engage the community, and transform arid lands into flourishing ecosystems. Join us in this global responsibility to create a greener future in Kajiado.
SECURING A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE FOR THE PEOPLE OF KAJIADO
Narresho Alliance begins an ambitious journey with a simple yet impactful project – leading the charge of reforestation in the semi-arid lands of Kajiado. Kajiado County, like all arid and semi-arid lands (ASALs) in Kenya, faces severe environmental challenges, including possible desertification, soil degradation and dwindling water resources which predisposes people, livestock and wildlife to hunger and poverty. Reforestation has been identified as key to addressing these challenges and securing a sustainable future for the people of Kajiado.
" You can make a lot of speeches, but the real thing is when you dig a hole, plant a tree, give it water, and make it survive. "

PROBLEMS
Desertification
Kajiado’s ASALs conditions have led to the gradual transformation of fertile land into degraded lands on the verge of being turned into deserts, resulting in the displacement of communities and the loss of agricultural productivity.
Water Scarcity
Reforestation can help replenish groundwater and restore natural aquifers, addressing the chronic water scarcity issue in the region.
Bio Diversity
The degradation of Kajiado’s ecosystem has led to the loss of valuable flora and fauna, threatening local biodiversity.
PROPOSED SOLUTIONS
Soil Stabilization
Tree roots will help prevent soil erosion, securing fertile land for agriculture.
Water Management
Reforestation will enhance water retention in the soil, ensuring a more consistent water supply for communities and livestock.
Carbon Sequestration
Trees will play a vital role in sequestering carbon, contributing to global efforts to combat climate change.
Biodiversity Conservation
The revival of native vegetation will provide habitat for various species and improve overall ecosystem health
WHY YOUR SUPPORT MATTERS
Narresho Alliance relies on funding and in-kind support of well-wishers and hence welcomes donations or fundraising as well as any valuable partnership that can include offering knowledge and expertise to farmer groups, women and youth of Narresho Alliance through training workshops.
Reforestation is not just a local endeavor; it is a global responsibility
. By supporting this project, you have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on both the environment and the lives of the people of Kajiado. Together, we can turn ASALs into thriving lands, ensuring a sustainable and prosperous future for all.
